Company Background

What is You Smell Soap?

You Smell soup is a luxury soap brand made out of entirely organic ingredients. The soap started off with two self-indulging and vitamin-infused fragrances — Lemon Verbena and Lavender Mint. They also have a paper wipe for freshening up when on the move.

Who Owns You Smell Soap?

The creator of You Smell soup, Megan Cummings has a B.F.A degree in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design. She worked at a couple of design jobs before breaking into her own designing business and starting You Smell simultaneously in 2011. You Smell continued in business for 3.5 years. Today, Megan does design work through her company and works for animal shelters through another side venture she founded — Downloads That Donate.

Founder’s Story

The origin of the You Smell dated back to Megan’s college days when she had to design packaging for products. This resulted in her creating a luxury soap brand which not only smelled good and had great packaging but also had “great personality”. The soaps were first presented in the bar and paper form. The latter was very convenient for people on the go and sold fast with customers and big retailers such as Urban Outfitters coming back for more. Megan believed You Smell could make big sales but was struggling to support it due to her full-time job. She hoped to one day, let go of her day job and join the soap business full-time. That’s when Shark Tank happened.

  1. Turns our Robert stiffed her on the deal and she made it a success on her own.

    • I also seen that makes me rethink watching the show how many others have they done like that
