Company Background

What is Yono Clip?

The Yono Clip is your ultimate solution for keeping your possessions off the ground and free of germs. If you’ve ever cringed after setting your bag down on a dirty restroom floor, then the Yono Clip is for you.

Yono stands for “you only need one” and with this product, that’s completely true.

The clip, which is available in various colors, utilizes a DURAFLEX® suction cup to adhere to nearly any surface. The clip features a durable hook for your bags and jackets that can hold up to 15 pounds.

Who Owns Yono Clip?

Today, Yono Clip inventors Michael Green and Bob Mackey are still going strong. Before their Shark Tank appearance, Mackey worked as the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia.

Green, on the other hand, was known for giving science presentations at various locations.

According to his Linkedin profile, Green is still an active entrepreneur and currently works as the president of a company called Science is for Everyone.

Founder’s Story

Mackey originally got the idea for Yono Clip when he tripped over someone’s bag at the gym. Armed with some paper towel and a pencil, Mackey started sketching plans for the Yono Clip right away.

Later, when Mackey shared his idea for a portable clip online, he caught the attention of Green. Along the way, Mackey and Green ran into some issues when multiple engineering companies told them the design would never work.

So, the pair opted to 3D print the Yono Clips instead. Mackey and Green quickly filled out a Shark Tank application and the rest, as they say, is history.

Yono Clip Shark Tank Update

Did Yono Clip Get a Deal on Shark Tank?

On Shark Tank Season 12 Episode 12, Michael Green and Bob Mackey entered the Tank seeking $150,000 for 15% of their suction cup hanger, the Yono Clip, and accepted an offer of $150,000 for 30%, from Daymond John.

Is Yono Clip Still in Business?

Before Shark Tank, the Yono Clip was part of a highly successful Kickstarter campaign. Currently, the Yono Clip, which was backed by Shark Tanks Daymond John, is available to buy on Amazon and the companies website.

There are several different suction cup hooks available on the market but none quite as durable, reliable, or unique as the Yono Clip.

What started as a simple sketch on a paper towel at the gym has turned into a product that people rely on. According to a post on LinkedIn The Yono Clip company is currently valued at $500,000.

  1. 🔥🔥🔥I got ripped off, too!!
Looks like they are “in business”
to take orders & keep people’s
    hard-earned money. BEWARE
ALL. Planning to file a fraud complaint with my credit
card company — so no more charges. Also, will complain to the
Better Business Bureau. Too bad that Daymond John got ripped
    off, also. 🔥🔥🔥

  2. I guess all that happened on July 17th was that a shipping label was created. No clips received, and apparently none sent. Ordered one of every color over 7 months ago on February 6, 2021.
“Your package is on its way to a USPS facility. Sign up to get updates, and we’ll send you a delivery date and time when available.

    • Today is September 12, 2021. Nothing has ever been received after ordering one of every color back on February 6, 2021 – the day this pitch was made on Shark Tank. Multiple attempts to contact anybody have gone unanswered. Who, if anyone, is accountable for this?

  3. Twelve days since I received notice my shipment had been mailed – but still not received. I realize the mail is slower these days, but this seems excessive. I will update here if they ever come. Very disappointed.

  4. Patti – I received notice today that my order has shipped! Hopefully you have or will receive your order shortly, as well. Hoping they are as awesome as I originally thought. I will report back here, either way.

Durr Den – I am pretty sure Daymond wouldn’t be able to own his dozens of companies if he didn’t pay attention to customer service. No successful company/business person “plays” at customer service – it is everything. “Especially during covid times.” All I asked for was a simple response to multiple inquiries.

    • Same here. Emailed at least 3 times since my February order. Glad to hear you got a notice of shipment. Gives me hope that I wasn’t ripped off!

    • Me either. I have emailed the company two or three times and tried to email Daymond John directly. I ordered and paid for one in every color the night they were on Shark Tank. It seemed like such a great product. I still want them, but I will be cautious going forward about buying products seen on the show. Not cool to take my $ and not at least respond to inquiries. Next week it will be five months.

      • That’s the risk you take when buying from a new and unestablished business. Especially during covid times. It has nothing to do with the show. And I’m sure Daymond has better things to do than play customer service for one of the dozens of companies he owns.
