What is Totes Babies?
Totes Babies is a hammock-like carriage carrier. The user can unwrap the carrier and place it on a shopping cart and attach it to the side of the cart using grips.
The baby’s car seat can be put on the hammock-like canvas and strapped to the cart once securely attached, so the baby can be secure and secure inside the car seat in your cart during the shopping trip.
Who Owns Totes Babies?
The founders of Totes Babies are Lindsey Fleischhauer and Stanley Valiulis, a father-daughter duo from the city of Naperville, Chicago. Stanley and his daughter joined hands to design a carrier to fit the shopping carts. Stanley is the President and owner of Rockford-based Subsource Inc., and the former CEO of Southern Imperial, High PSI Pressure Washing, Glendale Heights.
Totes Babies was established out of the dilemma that Lindsey faced while grocery shopping with her baby.
Her baby’s car seat wouldn’t fit in her grocery cart and leaving her baby at home was not an option.
Lindsey began brainstorming on a concept with her father and a family friend who happened to be an engineer.
Together they worked on the design which initially included repurposed curtain rods, used to make the first prototype. People would question Lindsey about the prototype when she used it during her shopping outings, and she realized it was an idea worth expanding further. She and her father went to a baby expo in Chicago in 2017 with their idea in mind, aiming to have the product ready to show the following year. And they succeeded!
Since the creation of the first Totes Babies, two related products have been developed and patented: a cell phone mounting device and a tablet mounting device. Other product concepts are in the works.
At numerous baby events and through local press channels, the daughter/father duo promoted their product. With the Totes Babies successfully launched, Lindsey’s husband suggested they try out for the Shark Tank.
