Tangle Pets is a line of plush toy animal hairbrushes designed to make hair brushing a fun and painless experience for both parents and kids. The brushes feature soft, flexible bristles for use on any hair type – is curly, straight, thick or thin, and even wet or dry. Each hair brush also comes with a positive affirmation written into the tag.
Tangle Pets began in 2016 after founder and mompreneur, Liz Martin, grew frustrated with how hard it was to keep her daughters from running away while getting their hair brushed. After noticing the girls playing with their stuffed animals, she decided to grab one of their plush toy owls and glued it onto a hairbrush. From then on, the girls began looking forward to having their hair brushed.
Liz realized she was on to something and initially sought funding through crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo, where they raised a disappointing $50. But the unsuccessful campaign didn’t stop Liz from pushing on. She eventually made her way onto Shark Tank and secured a $75,000 deal with Lori Greiner for 50% of her company.
