What is Surfset Fitness?
SurfSet Fitness is a company that targets fitness enthusiasts. The company offers RipSurferX (RSX), which mimics a water surfboard. However, RFX is used as gym equipment for balance and core exercises and not in water. SurfSet also offers a fitness program to aspiring fitness instructors across the globe.
Who Owns Surfset Fitness?
Mike Hartwick and Sarah Poon are the co-founders of SurfSet Fitness. Before starting the company, Mike was a professional hockey player, while Sarah was a nutritionist and fitness coach. After the duo established the company, they split up. Mike is the current CEO of SurfSet Fitness Company, as Hypewear lured Sarah to become their Vice President of marketing in 2018.
Being a fitness enthusiast, Mike Hartwick wanted to spice up the training routine. When hockey league was on recess, he would engage in surfing to kill the monotony of ‘conventional’ training. After mulling over the idea, he reached out to Sarah Poon, and together they created SurfSet Fitness.
As mentioned above, he wanted fitness enthusiasts to enjoy all the benefits and thrills of surfing on a simulated board. That idea gave birth to RSX, which is a replica surfboard. Again, not a team was satisfied with one idea; they embarked on a fitness training program. This was to ensure that their fitness program cascaded to more people.
Initially, SurfSet only trained and certified instructors in the US. However, they have expanded their services to over 30 countries around the world. SurfSet Fitness had made approximately $150000 in four months, and these sales were before appearing on Shark Tank to show a show of faith in the product.
