What is Stasher?
Stasher is a company that produces reusable silicon bags as an alternative to plastic bags. These bags aren’t just a cute idea or a pretty product, although they are also that, Stasher has a much bigger, important mission behind them.
Who is the Stasher Founder?
Kat Nouri, daughter of an Iranian professional wrestler and a Ph.D. Nutritionist always had an eye on health and nutrition. After going to the University of California Berkley, she founded Modern Twist, a company designing many reusable silicon products for the home, children, baby, and more.
Although Kat was already working in creating food-safe silicon products of many kinds since 2005, she realized she was still personally using single-use plastic bags, and knew she could do better. Stasher is something different. Stasher is not just an extension of a line of containers. Instead, Kat Nouriworked hard to create endlesslessly reusable platinum silicone bags of all sizes and made it a serious mission to further reduce plastic and toxic waste and make a big dent in environmental preservation efforts. One thing that makes Stasher different is a patented technology for sealing the bags called Pich-Loc. The bags are also durable enough to freeze and microwave and sous vide again and again and again. Since 2016 Stasher has prevented 1 billion plastic bags from being used. Additionally, a portion of profits always goes to targeted non-profit organizations that broaden the cause of environmental protection. Stasher has also encompassed a huge social community of members for the continued efforts of sustainability and similar causes. Super functional but also missionally minded, Stasher founder Kat Nouri also received the Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2020.
