What is Shake It Pup?
Shake It Pup is a company which produces all-natural dog food seasonings for improved taste, added nutrition, and extra excitement at meal times.
Each seasoning boasts 100% human grade ingredients and a unique flavor profile, including varieties such as Pizza My Heart, Peanut Butter Belly, Barking BBQ, and Bae’con & Cheese.
Who Owns Shake It Pup?
The company was founded by dog lovers AJ Crook and Brett Maiolfi. AJ has years of marketing experience, even before entering into his role as Brand Operations Manager at Shake It Pup.
He worked as an Automotive Social Media Marketing Assistant for Hype Media Group, a Brand & E-Commerce Manager for The Catch Seafood Co., and a Marketing Consultant for GrubMarket Inc.
Meanwhile, Brett founded another dog related company before Shake It Pup came to fruition, a company called SnapWag which offered pet owners a variety of toys and foods to choose from.
AJ Crook and Brett Maiolfi don’t have a winding back story or ah-ha moment regarding Shake It Pup’s inception.
Rather, the idea occurred rather organically as the two already worked in the marketing and business industries, loved their pet dogs and dogs in general, and thought creating such food seasonings would be a fun, creative way to spice up meal times.
Sometimes dogs can become bored eating the same food day after day; Shake It Pup aimed to add variety without sacrificing nutrition or taste.

Is Shake It Pup Still in Business?
As of today, Shake It Pup appears to have shut down. The brand’s Instagram has not been updated since December 10, 2020; their website, shakeitpup.com, is not working; and on LinkedIn AJ Crook listed his work with the brand as having ended in July 2021.
Additionally, their products on Amazon are listed as “Currently Unavailable.” There might be hope for a comeback, however, and there’s a graphic on their website which reads, “We’ll Be Back Soon!” and Brett’s LinkedIn account still shows him as an active member of the company.
