Married business partners, Josh and Diana Harbour, started Red Dress Boutique in their hometown. Diana earned her Bachelor’s of Art in English Literature and Professional Writing with a Minor in Art. After graduation, she got a typical cubicle job but shortly after opened Red Dress Boutique. Today, their business is going strong.

Founder’s Story

Diana felt that her need for creativity wasn’t being met at her office job. The original motivation for her business was to fill a void in the fashion industry. Her idea was to sell one-of-a-kind clothes at an affordable price that were bright and would make women feel confident.

It started as her selling clothes from her basement on eBay. After online success, she wanted to have a physical store. Diana and her husband decided to sell their house and move from Columbus, GA to Athens, GA, in pursuit of her dream. They lived on a tight budget and without a permanent address for a year.

Like all new businesses, they had their problems. Their website was confusing and not built to handle the amount of traffic they demanded. Despite this, Red Dress Boutique was a success and after only a few years the business earned over $8 million in sales.
