What is Pristine?
Pristine Cleansing Sprays is an eco-friendly alternative to wet wipes. In just 1-2 sprays (or a single pump), you can turn dry rough toilet paper into a soft flushable wet wipe.
The sprays are formulated with natural, plant-based and other safe ingredients based on FDA™ GRAS, Whole Foods Body Care, and EWG standards that make them perfect for sensitive skin of all ages.
With Pristine, you can stop using expensive, chemical-laden, toilet-clogging wet wipes that save your bottom and your wallet.
Their product line includes the Original 1 oz and 4 oz Toilet Sprays, the new Fragrance Free Toilet Spray, and the Big Ass 32 oz refill bottle.
Pristine was founded in 2014 by first cousins Brandon Karam and Jessica(Jess) Karam Oley. At the time, Jess was a mother of three who noticed traditional diapers and wipes were too abrasive for her newborn daughter’s sensitive skin. Around the same time, her cousin Brandon and lifelong wet wipe user, discovered his skin had become sensitive to the chemicals found in wet wipes.
After many discussions around their butt wiping woes, they began testing different formulas. They eventually turned their homemade baby wipes solution into dermatologically tested cleaning spray for all sensitive bottoms and left their day jobs as attorneys to work on building up Pristine.
Pristine has a 4.5 star rating on Amazon with nearly 400 reviews. Most customers love its portability, discreet size, eco-friendliness and versatility.
Using Pristine has saved dozens of toilets from hefty plumbing bills caused by non-flushable and “flushable” wet wipes. Customers have even used it to make diy body wipes for camping trips or after a sweaty workout session.
Other customers have seen it work in homemade wipes for diaper rashes.
However, there are some customers who complain of toilet paper tearing easily after being sprayed but this is easily remedied by double folding.
Pristine After Shark Tank – Where Are They Now?
It appears the deal with Lori did not close. During their Shark Tank pitch, Lori had mentioned the possibility of her previous investment, Squatty Potty, working on a similar product.
With Pristine’s growing popularity, various other brands have come out with their own wet wipe sprays and numerous tutorials now exist on how to make homemade baby wipes.
Today the company continues to build their brand with new products including the Pristine Machine – an automatic dispenser for easier application.
