What is Pooch Selfie?

The Pooch Selfie is the smartphone attachment here to help turn you into a professional dog photographer. The attachment comes equipped with a squeaky tennis ball to hold your dog’s attention just long enough for you to capture the perfect picture of your pooch.

Who Founded Pooch Selfie?

Pooch Selfie was founded by Jason Hernandez in 2016. Jason is a Mechanical Engineering graduate with experience as an engineer and sales manager, prior to starting Clever Dog Products LLC. Today, he remains the CEO of Clever Dog Products (Pooch Selfie) while also working as a Business Development Manager.

Founder’s Story

The idea for Pooch Selfie first came to Hernandez in 2015, inspired by a love for his dog. “I made this because I love my dog,” Hernandez said. “My dog’s not going to be around forever. That’s my first best friend. I just want to share that with people so they can do the same thing.”

From start to finish, Jason was involved in all aspects of the business, designing and developing the product which included securing intellectual property rights, as well as marketing and manufacturing.

He took the idea to Kickstarter in September 2015 where it exceeded its goal in just 11 days! By the project’s end, the Pooch Selfie had successfully raised $39,897 with 1625 backers.

By March of 2016, the Pooch Selfie had been successfully delivered to the majority of its backers and was now being sold on Amazon.

In 2016, Jason launched his company, Clever Dog Products LLC as the parent company company for the Pooch Selfie and other related dog products.

What Happened After Shark Tank Update

Did Pooch Selfie Get a Deal on Shark Tank?

In Season 10 Episode 16, Jason Hernandez left the Shark Tank with a deal from Daymond John of $100,000 for 33% of Pooch Selfie.

Is Pooch Selfie Still in Business?

The Pooch Selfie has gone international and can be found in stores throughout the US, Canada and UK including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Amazon, and on their Shopify online store.

Pooch Selfie Competitors?

As is often the unfortunate case for many new products, the Pooch Selfie has faced competition from knockoffs but has continued to successfully fight them off by enforcing its intellectual property patents.

There are other pet selfie products on the market, like the Genuine Fred Woofie which retails at a slightly cheaper price, but the Pet Selfie remains at the top of the pet selfie tool market.

Pooch Selfie Reviews?

Reviews of the Pooch Selfie are pretty good. Amazon lists a 4.2 star rating over 500 reviews with most reviewers stating the Pooch Selfie works just as advertised.

However, a few customers have stated issues with the quality of the product and its lack of universality as it struggles to fit on some phones with the iPhone X having the most issues with fitting.

  1. This guy cried too much and then is lucky enough to get Daymond’s offer. He was greedy and didn’t care about Daymond’s connection to the product. Daymond should have said “I’m out” immediately after!

  2. I don’t know about the other comments, if you have a quality phone you screen will be fine. Its just plastic clip most phone are made with high density gorilla glass. Anywas great item my dog love it. I LOVE IT.
