What is Nicepipes Apparel?
Nicepipes sells high-performance leg and arm warmers in a variety of colors and patterns. Leg warmers come in two types, thigh-high and knee-high. The products offer a number of benefits that make them ideal for women’s fitness programs. For example, Nicepipes are sweat-wicking and UV protection.
Who Owns Nicepipes Apparel?
Lisa Binderow is a mom, wife, and yoga enthusiast. She started nicepipes in 2014 after students and teachers at her yoga studio asked about what she was wearing. Binderow spent seven years working at a national chain yoga studio in New York, first as a fitness trainer then later as a program manager.
The best inventions often come from something we need. Binderow lived and worked in New York City where the winters can be bitter cold. She would often walk or run to her yoga studio during the cold mornings.
She found that traditional wool and acrylic leg warmers were uncomfortable on her skin. She also didn’t feel her yoga clothes provided enough protection from the elements.
Binderow often wore her yoga clothes as she ran her daily errands around New York City. This meant she wore her sweaty workout clothes most of the day. Her answer was layering, but she didn’t want to buy a whole new wardrobe of workout clothes.
Binderow’s solution was simple and elegant. She cut and shaped yoga pants to wear as leg and arm warmers. So many students and teachers wanted to buy her nicepipes that she left her job and started her own business.
