What is Mo’s Bows?
Bow ties needn’t be the choice attire of the suave tuxedo-clad James Bond or the nerdy academic likes of Sheldon Cooper. Mo’s Bows is making the simple bow tie fashionable again.
They not only make colorful hand-crafted bow-ties but neckties and handkerchiefs too for the modern dapper gentleman’s wardrobe. So everyone can benefit from their product line, from trendy hipsters to powerful corporate execs, ala Harvey Specter.
Who is the Founder of Mo’s Bows?
Moziah Bridges is the founder of Mo’s Bows, which he setup in 2011 while still in elementary school. Mo remains very actively involved in the company, under the guidance of his mom and mentors.
For his upcoming plans, he’s focusing on expanding his product line and apparel-related skills by going to college. In 2021, he also plans to enter an emerging fashion designer competition to showcase his talents.
Mo can ultimately credit his business’s success to his grandmother, who taught him how to sow—although his father’s debonair fashion sense certainly helped too. The young prodigy started his company when he was just nine years old.
Wanting a new, albeit expensive bow-tie with a great pattern he’d seen on a shopping trip to the mall, he borrowed some of his gran’s fabric and made his own.
Impressing others with the overall design, he started selling them not long after to people in his community, and the business began to grow from there. He then started selling them on Etsy, an e-commerce site for hand-crafted items for $40-50, and began receiving many orders.
Soon the young upstart received a lot of attention and did several TV, news, and magazine features. He also caught the eye of the producers at Shark Tank.
Mo’s Bow Shark Tank Update
The company remains in business, is doing well, and barely into his 20’s, Mo is now a millionaire, although he still plans to go to college to study fashion.
You can purchase their handmade products from their website or on Amazon. They currently employ about half a dozen full-time employees, including none other than Mo’s mom as CEO.
Notably in 2015, Mo became a fashion consultant for the NBA, also attaining exclusive rights to use their branding on his apparel range. He has also published a book called Mo’s Bows: A Young Person’s Guide to Start-up Success which can be downloaded for free with Audible.
