What is Mirmir?
MirMir, which is short for Mirror Mirror, is a high-end photo booth per se, but more like a traveling mobile fashion shoot for parties, weddings, or corporate events. It comes with an assortment of dress-up items, props, along with an assistant/photographer to suggest poses, etc. Once the photoshoots are complete (using unique lights to make you look more attractive), with the option to add filters, the pictures get instantly printed; alternatively, they offer a digital version for sharing the images on social media.
Who Owns Mirmir?
The co-founders of MirMir are Sean Spencer and Ryan Glenn. Both men come from a background of running high-end photo booths. Sean has a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University. He has since left MirMir and is now vice president of marketing for a company that connects entrepreneurs. Ryan received tertiary education at the San Francisco Art Institute and remains with MirMir as a partner on the board of directors.
When Sean and Ryan met in Texas, they realized that they both ran similar photo booth services and shared many clients. So instead of competing, they decided to pool their resources and talents and work together instead. Ryan then moved his operation over to LA to join Sean, to open their envisioned studio-quality photo booth. They soon struck gold, becoming the Kardashian’s favorite photo booth. In conjunction with the hefty price tag they could charge this clientele, the free-marketing helped massively. They successfully operated nine machines in and around the LA celebrity crowd, and were making around $4 million annually. However, feeling there was scope to move this business model into something the everyday person could benefit from, like weddings, parties, and events they started looking for investors.
What Happened After Shark Tank Update
Is Mirmir Still in Business
Mirmir remains in business with its headquarters in Los Angeles. However, they have offices in five countries now. They went on to partner with high-end events to offer their services at the Oscars and Golden Globe awards. Though the bulk of their fame, revenue, and notoriety remains attached to the celebrity market, they have pivoted to weddings, events, and corporate functions as they had already envisioned for scalability.
