OUT OF BUSINESS
What is Mikki Bey?
Mikki Bey Eyelash Extensions, as the name suggests, offers eyelash extensions allowing “regular women” to look and feel like celebrities. They apply synthetic eyelash extensions that are non-harmful, only take 90 minutes to apply professionally, and last up to two months. The business is run out of a beauty studio in Los Angeles or through two-day seminars allowing others to become qualified to do the same.
Who Owns Mikki Bey?
The founder and creator, CEO Mikki Bey, from Detroit, was previously a news producer on CBS. However, she felt she had more to give creatively and left to pursue a career as a celebrity make-up artist.
Mikki remains active in the beauty industry, carving out a niche as a “Lash Artist.” She has gained notoriety due to multiple media features, columns written, appearances, and celebrity endorsements. While her original LA studio closed down, she’s contemplating opening a new one. She’s also since gone on to complete an MBA at Pepperdine University.
Mikki started her business in 2011, feeling there was a way to segue her newly found Hollywood beautification skills, by attaching pre-made synthetic eyelash designs onto regular clients to help them look and feel like an A-list celebrity. She ran the business successfully out of a studio in Los Angeles.
By rubbing shoulders with celebrities and due to the eyelash extension’s durability, word of mouth spread. And her popularity increased. Mikki then started running two-day business training workshops with an all-inclusive starter package and seminars across the US, Central America, and the UK — encouraging others to become eyelash extension professionals too.
By 2014 she was reporting sales above USD 130,000.00. It was then that Mikki started looking for investors. To not only patent her products but allow for the proper accreditation of the training she was giving.
