Company Background

What is Lockstraps?

Lockstraps is a company that makes tie-down straps with steel cables including nylon outer sleeves and locking carabiner clips. Lockstraps can be used to secure items on a trailer or a truck bed, secure power equipment, or keep loads from shifting during transit. Besides securing, Lockstraps also allow items to be locked and comes in sizes of 2.5 Feet to 24 Feet.

Who is the Founder of Lockstraps?

Prior to inventing Lockstraps, Jeff Cranny, after getting a Bachelors degree in communications and business/corporate communications from California State University in Long Beach, had cumulative business experience for a decade as a sales leader in B2B and B2C sales across various industries.

He also had perceptive expertise in information presentation and data analytics. Currently, the company is still in business, though its social media pages have not been active since 2018.

Founder’s Story

Jeff’s inspiration behind Lockstraps stemmed from when he was a victim of theft in 2009 where, after stepping away from his motorcycle that was tied down with the average security steps, he came back to find that his motorcycle had been stolen with all of the gear that was on it.

On top of his frustration, insurance failed to cover what was stolen. This sparked a 4-year journey of trying out several designs and overcoming language barriers between himself and his manufacturers in China, in search of finding a more secure solution until he landed on Lockstraps.
