Company Background

What is Legal Grind?

Legal Grind offers affordable legal assistance for uncontested legal matters such as spousal and child support, divorce, or will writing.

Legal Grind legal professionals help clients prepare the documentation needed to represent themselves in court.

Legal Grind representatives meet with clients in a coffee shop, at their offices, or provide advice over the phone or virtually.

Who Owns Legal Grind?

Legal Grind was founded in 1996 by Jeff Hughes. Jeff is a licensed attorney who’s passion is to find a way to ensure that as many people as possible have access to high-grade legal advice. Today, Jeff remains the CEO of Legal Grind, although it remains unknown whether the “Coffee and Counsel” service still exists.

Founder’s Story

Jeff Hughes founded Legal Grind on the basis of the “coffee and counsel” concept, offering low- to middle-income earners affordable access to an attorney or paralegal, with the services being provided from a Santa Monica coffee house.

Jeff’s novel idea attracted plenty of news coverage, offering a chance for thousands of Americans who would not otherwise have been able to afford an attorney to get the legal counsel they needed.

Although Jeff’s company has broadened and diversified its services as time has gone on, his fundamental concept of ensuring that the protections and rights of the US legal system are available to all remains.
