What is Heidi Ho?
Heidi Ho is a product line of dairy- cheese. It was founded in 2012 to create natural and organic cheese using clean ingredients that are safe to consume. Since then, the company has produced various cheeses such as Cashew Cheese, Chia Cheese, and Feta Crumbles, each with flavors of blueberry, spicy, and smoky.
Who is the Heidi Ho Founder?
Heidi lovig is the founder of Heidi Ho! Before obtaining a Culinary Arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu, she worked as a manager at an Eco-hostel and organic farm. Here, she had the privilege to train and work with raw foodies and vegans from all over the world. This is where she developed her love and interest in vegan foods.
Founder’s StoryGrowing as an overweight kid, Lovig saw the need to change her diet. She decided to be a chef to control her diet by choosing the ingredients by herself. Lovig observed that the available varieties of cheese were less palatable since they had additives, fats, chemicals and oils. She, therefore, replaced the initial ingredients with cashew, chia seeds, red pepper, turnips and parsnips.
Her idea for making vegan cheeses was born when she got a job in a Portland-area restaurant to work as a vegan consultant. Lovig realized that the cheese products had too much oil and starches, and they were not tasty. This was when she got an idea to try her line of cheese products that are organic and natural.
Heidi Ho cheeses picked up very well, as many people were interested in the product. Lovig distributed the products to various whole food markets and natural food stores. But, with time, she realized she needed more capital to widen her distribution channels. It was then that she decided to pitch her ideas to Shark Tank to get an investor.
