What is Grypmat ?

Grypmat is a unique product designed to help stop the issue of tools slipping away when in use. This bright orange sticky gripping mat acts to keep all sorts of tools in place so that users can concentrate on the task at hand without having to spend time picking up tools that have fallen or slipped out of reach.

Who Founded Grypmat ?

The owner of Grypmat is former air force mechanic, Tom Burden. Burden used his experiences as a young mechanic in the forces to create and develop his revolutionary product. He even sold his house in the summer of 2016, spending a month living in his car so that he could make his dream a reality. Today, he is working on exciting expansion plans for the retail industry with a smaller, lower-priced Grypmat, suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

Founder’s Story

Aged just 29, Burden saw a need for this product whilst working in the forces in his role as a mechanic. He’d often find that whilst working on a job, he would constantly have to climb all the way down from the wing of a plane where his tools would slip. This was costing him valuable time and was also frustrating him as well. He felt sure that other mechanics and people that use tools for their at-home DIY projects could surely benefit from a product that prevented this from happening and simplified their lives. Burden is now proud of his amazing achievement of successfully making the Forbes 30 under 30 list in Manufacturing and Industry.
