What is Cerebral Success?
Cerebral Success is an all-natural “brain food” in the form of pills, marketed explicitly towards students who need to stay focused and retain information when studying for exams. It makes use of 12 primary nootropic ingredients that are known to stimulate the brain naturally.
Who is the Cerebral Success Founder?
Trevor Hiltbrand is the founder of Cerebral Success. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Formerly an intern at a summer job for a start-up company, he founded the business straight out of university. Trevor left Cerebral Success in 2019 and is now CEO of a Utah-based company specializing in DIY solar panel installations.
Trevor came up with the idea in his college dorm when considering alternatives to the commonly used Adderall for studying purposes. He conducted a large amount of research and sourced the help of professionals on the subject.
Once he had created the formula for a product of his own, he attempted to get FDA approval but was unsuccessful. This setback didn’t deter him though, and once he’d manufactured a significant amount of inventory, he successfully got himself on Amazon and began selling.
He soon gained success with positive customer reviews and managed to rank as number one on the Brain Supplement List of products. Then, seeking additional capital to help the business grow, Trevor went looking for an investor.
Cerebral Success Shark Tank Update
Did Cerebral Success Get a Deal on Shark Tank?
On Season 5 Episode 26 of Shark Tank, Trevor Hiltbrand accepted an offer from Barbara Corcoran of $75,000 for 50%.
Although most deals don’t close after an episode airs, this one did. In a 2014, Barbara wrote a post on LinkedIn about how she spots a winner on Shark Tank, where she describes Trevor’s pitch as the “absolute worst pitch” of Season 5. Despite his poor pitching skills, Barbara saw the merit in Trevor’s business and knew he had the makings of a great entrepreneur.
Barbara was right once again. Within days of closing the deal, just before the episode had aired, sales for Cerebral Success had quadrupled.
Is Cerebral Success Still in Business?
After the flagship product was rebranded to SmartX by Cerebral Success, the company appears to be out of business. However, post-investment, it had invested in proper liability insurance to develop the product and conduct independent studies.
The studies conclusively proved significant improvement in: Focus, memory, concentration, and processing speed.
At one point, they partnered with global retail brand GNC to stock in stores nationwide. The company, however, appears to have stopped manufacturing the pills as there’s no official website, mention of the product on GNC or Amazon, and the Facebook page has been dormant since 2018.
The supplement industry is incredibly competitive and with the added necessary of proper testing and clinical trials to validate its claims, its likely the company ran out of money.
