Camp No Counselor was started by Adams Tichauer as an exquisite three-day activity camp for grown-ups in 2013 on the Labor Day weekend. It was meant to be a friend’s weekend get together that allowed them to vanish from the stresses of grown-up lives. The activities experienced at the camp include archery, campfire, canoeing, basketball, ziplining, yoga, and hiking. Their core drive was to get people together, build better acquaintances, and bring out the best version in everyone. The three iconic destinations are New York, Los Angeles, and Florida.

Camp No Counselors’ Story

Adams Tichauer, the founder’s first job, was in finance, where he worked for long hours. He felt the need to disappear for a weekend and invite a few friends to a sleep away camp. The group of friends that showed up was 90 people. His idea for a sleep-away adult camp was born. They came to the camp with no anticipation but were left re-energized and inspired by the bonds they had made. Adam desired a camp that offers other adults the feeling of letting go and being the person they want to be. The need to expand to numerous camps in various cities made him bring his adult camp idea to the Sharks for an investment.

Before appearing on Shark Tank, Adam had made sales worth $730,000 from four different camps spread out in four cities. The camp rates were at $475 for a three day weekend and all-inclusive of activities, meals, transportation cost, accommodation, and an open bar.

Camp No Counselors on Shark Tank

Adam walked into the Tank to pursue a $300,000 investment in exchange for a 7.5% stake in the business. Unfortunately, the Camp No Counselor’s pitch was not persuasive enough on the business’ sustainability, and none of the Shark’s took the bait.

Camp No Counselors after Shark Tank

The business spread into eight cities despite not getting a deal at Shark Tank. They have been highlighted in various articles and adored by the media, including The Huffington Post, CNN, Fortune, and the Rolling Stone Vice. They have had a 4.5-star rating from 27 reviews on Yelp. The camp rates went higher than after appearing the Shank Tank. The current rates are $650 for early bird pricing. The company is delighted to have held more Adult summer camp than other competitors and be the originators of the weekend all-inclusive summer Camps for Adults.
