What is Beardaments?
When ’tis the season to be jolly, trees and homes are usually decorated with lights and ornaments. Beardaments adds to the festivities with ornaments specifically designed to adorn beards. Beardaments offers a range of baubles and lights for beards and hair, and other novelty items to enhance the holiday cheer.
Who Owns Beardamentst?
James McOmber, the founder of Beardaments, is from Salt Lake City, Utah. McOmber graduated from Weber State University, where he achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in technical sales. He served as the Vice President of Sales for Groove Entertainment Technologies before becoming the senior sales director for DSI Systems.
Aside from his drive for profitable sales growth and his talent for establishing long-term business partnerships, McOmber is a fan of the traditional ugly Christmas sweater. So, it was no surprise he attended an ugly sweater party one cold Christmas evening.
A combination of holiday spirit and too much eggnog inspired McOmber and the party-goers to attach some Christmas ornaments to his “epic beard.” It was an instant hit with the amused revelers, and the entrepreneur in McOmber saw an opportunity.
Soon after the beard decorating incident, McOmber started Beardaments as a side hustle. The business began with Beardaments to the value of $1,500. He then put them up for sale on e-commerce sites like eBay and Etsy.
In just a few weeks, the first Beardaments sold out. In its first year, Beardaments made $80,000 in sales and $155,000 the next. Beardaments’ success enabled the expansion of its product range.
